अनशन पर बैठे है बोले, खाना है, नहीं खाना....

A poem spontaneously composed for,
The girl who was denied admission in an engineering college.
The #ABVP activist who was beaten by the college director.
The 49 #ABVP activists who fought back through historic hunger strike.

खाना खाना,
नहीं खाना।
रे जाना जाना,
नहीं जाना।
अनशन पर बैठे है बोले,
खाना है, नहीं खाना।
रे अनशन पर बैठे है बोले,
जाना है, नहीं जाना।

लड़ना लड़ना,
है लड़ना।
रे चलना चलना,
साथ चलना।
भाई कैसे लड़ना,
पता नहीं।
भाई कहाँ चलना,
कोई बता सही।
इंकलाब का ख्वाब सजाकर,
बस लड़ना है, है लड़ना।
क्रांतिकारी जज्बात समझकर,
बस चलना है, है चलना।

हारना हारना,
नहीं हारना।
हार गए तो,
फिर उठ लड़ना।
भाई कब हारे थे,
जब लड़े ही नहीं।
भाई कैसे उठे थे,
जब इरादें थे सही।
उदास चेहरे देख रहे है,
हारना है, नहीं हरना।
नए हाथ आगे बढ़ रहे है,
फिर उठाना है, है उठना।

It's 6a.m. and I woke up as usual before alarm to keep the word with my mom that I would study in the morning. Every morning that starts with checking e-mails, Facebook messages or Twitter DM's followed by searching for the tooth-brush! Remembering martyred ABVP Activist Krishnavardhan Reddy, who was murdered by Maoists at Osmania University

B.Krishnavardhan N Reddy had just completed his M.Sc in physics and had registeted for Ph.D in Osmania University, Hyderabad. He always had a zeal to serve society through activism. Right from his first year, he was part of student movement as an ABVP activist. He was a soft spoken and good mannered person. He initiated various movements on academic and social issues, which made him very populer amongst the students. This led to him being elected as president of Osmania University Science College Students Union for the year 1985-86. As ABVP Zonal Secretary, he used to strive hard to expand the base of ABVP in suburban Hyderabad. On 1st October 1987, he left his hostel room at 7AM to reach ABVP office. Members of maoist organization PWG, who were following him, spotted him in a restaurant near ABVP office while he was having tea. Krishnavardhan sensed the danger and ran onto the street.
